im in the process of upgrading my computer. i have a dell e521 and i would like to upgrade the mainboard and processor. i also have a asus 9800 gt graphics card and a antech neo power 550w. does anyone have any pointers.

i was looking at an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 3.1GHz 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 89W Dual-Core Processor. would this work, if yes what main board would i need.

Asus M3A78-EM, AMD 780G+SB700, m-ATX is a mainboard i saw that will fit in my pc i just dont know if it is compatiable.

praying someone an answer because i allready have psu and graphics card paid for.

thanks.

Actually the E521 case is proprietary and uses a non-standard I/O connection. So if you decide to get new motherboard you will also have to get another case as well as a new copy of Windows. The copy you have is tied to the Dell motherboard.

another question. would i be able to get a new i/o connector instead of a new case.
i have all my components together and it looks like all i'm missing is an ''on and off'' button.

if this is impossible could anyone recommend a case for my components.
