hi just wanting to know the memory limit of memory supported by XP 64 os is it the same as vista 8 - 128GB? because i've read about the post here the title is 8GB overkill i think. planning to buy ram 4 x 2GB right now for my socket 775. thanks

Check your motherboard memory limit. It is usually something like 8 GB or 16 GB if you are lucky.

You may need to increase the Northbridge voltage with 8 GB, relax the memory timings and increase the memory voltage.
Only if you are having problems.
