I was wondering if I could get some help. I recently upgraded my CPU in my computer with a fresh Win XP install. When it was officially installed, and it booted for its 1st time, it emitted a high pitched buzzing from the cpu area. I checked the fans around the area, and removed the sound card, video card and network card to see if anything was the problem but it was not. I downgraded back to my old CPU and I still had the problem, so I ruled out my initial suspicion being the new CPU. I think the motherboard may have faulted somehow during installation and now causes the noise. Very irritating noise causes me headaches so I cant ignore it, and I dont want my computer to burnout out, so I'm seeking advice.

My hardware includes:

Mobo - Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L (rev. 1.0)
CPU old - Pentium D 945 Presler 3.4 Ghz Dual-Core
CPU new - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 Ghz Quad
RAM - OCZ Gold 2x2gb DDR2 PC2 6400
Running Windows xp SP2 currently

need anything else just let me know
