Supported as of BIOS F2; just because a CPU uses socket 775 does not automatically mean it will work on any 775 MOBO; new steppings of older chips, as well as newly released CPUs use different micro-code to support hardware-based features; BIOS, necessarily, operates at the micro-code level, and is likely to not work, or throw undefined (and, therefore, unhandled) exceptions, which is often worse than simply not working - can lead to corruption of other resources (like your HDD, or RAID array, if you're not lucky).
Best policy is to start here:
