Unlocking my 550 be

I have a Gigaby ga890gpa ud3h with bios update
When i unlock my cores and try to boot i see the windows7 logo but then it quickly reboots
Would this be because that the cores are defective or could it be because that my motherboard uses a 8 pin connector to power the cpu and i am only connecting one 4 pin?

u want the motherborad to have 8pin if thats the conector ur not giveing ur cpu enough power possibly i would try 8 pin then see what happens

I just unlocked 2 extra cores on a 550BE on an AsRock 880G Extreme 3 only using a 4 pin adapter in an 8 pin socket

I just thought after reading other posts you may be able to stablise the cores by upping the voltage

Ive actualy read the other post as well and i was playing around with my voltage but it didnt work. Which led me to think maybe because of my 4 pin im not throwing in enough power.
I dont get a blue screen so i thought maybe i had some hope, but i guess i thought wrong
