We have a network running at home and im trying to connect to it with my desktop PC. im currently using windows XP, and im using a REALTEK 11n USB wireless LAN utility. So I enterd the network key and tried to connect, but when I open control panel and go to network connections under LAN or high-speed internet, the wireless connection keeps connecting and disconnecting in intervals of about 3 seconds. I've tried contacting my ISP but found no success. Any help will be appreciated.

do you have a wireless router? have you matched all the settings properly?

Try connecting your computer to the router with a wire, let it sit for about 5 minutes, then disconnect and try connecting with wireless.

Does the internet work at all in the 3 seconds it's connected? Does it ever finish connecting or is it showing as authenticating and then back to disconnected?

how far are you from the router? if you're significant distance in a busy building, there might be just too much interference, try moving the computer closer to the router and connecting then.
