Hi guys, I have a bit of a problem and am hoping some of ya's might have some advice.

I put together a new comp about 6 months ago and all was well (at least after I RMA'ed the mobo). About a week ago I started to get "physical memory dump" crashes about once a day (would crash on random programs, no trend noticed). Then this morn, it crashed and wouldn't get past POST.

The mobo poster stopped on "init rom". I couldn't even get the the setup screen during boot, it would try but not get all the way.

Specs from memory (I'll update/confirm when I get home)

Asus Striker Formula (using the kinda onboard sound)
Q6600
2x2gig ram (crucial I think)
nvidia BFG 8800GT
coolermaster PSU (750W)

First guess is mobo or memory, I'll pull one of the DIMMs and see if one works alone. I'll rummage through my spare parts box and see what else I can swap out and rule out any other parts.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks!

its kind of hard to guess -- but i'll go ahead and guess.

Either your guess's are correct. Memory or mobo, or the bios is not giving your memory enough juice. make sure the bios reflects the correct voltage for your ram and if you get it to post, try running mem test for a couple of hours
