I'm looking into a new graphics card, and I need to know what kind of ports my motherboard has. (PCI, PCIe, etc.)
So, I downloaded BelArc Advisor, and it told me this about my motherboard:
Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. Berkeley 1.04
Bus Clock: 267 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 5.13 10/24/2007
I can't even begin to understand what this means, so I googled the "Board" name. All I got was other people asking about their motherboard, but none of their questions were the same as mine.
So now I must ask, what kind of port does my motherboard have?
If it helps, I already have an NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS.
Try CPU-Z. It should actually give you a model number and tons of other information, including VGA slot type. That is, in case you can't be bothered to open up the case and read the silk-screening on the motherboard itself and all that...
Well, I did pop open the case and inspect the motherboard, but I couldn't find any information regarding its VGA slot, so I decided to turn to the vast knowledge of those on the internet .
