I just built a computer and for some odd reason it will freeze at the windows logo screen on a restart but works completely fine on a cold boot. Any ideas as to why the restart crashes?

Asus M3A, 2Gb Patriot, AMD 7750, Seagate 500Gb, Windows XP

Sounds like a driver or bios problem make sure there as up to date as possable. If not go to your command prompt and run as admin (if vista) they type sfc /scannow. If ou find windows corruption that it cant fix run some hardware diags and a good antivirus. After that get ready for an OSRI.

No the cpu has not been overclocked. I'll try a bios update. Thanks

Another thing I realised is that it only works when one stick of RAM is in. It does not matter which stick of RAM either. 2 x 1Gb sticks Patriot DDR2 Ram
