cannot open test disk

What do you mean? Did you add a drive to your computer? Is it visaible in the BIOS. What OS are you using. If it is new hard drive and visible in the BIOS and you are using Widows you have to assign a drive letter and format the drive by going to the control panel, administrative tools, computer management and selecting disk management.

can you see it in disk management? or bad boot sector?
