Ok, so I wanted to build a computer for Christmas since I currently have a Dell :(.
I wanted to play games like maybe COD4, Crysis, UT3, FC2, etc.
I cannot decide on what graphics card/CPU to get, and it is driving me up the wall!
I do not want to spend more than $800 USD, and I do not think that I should have to in order to play these games.

So far these are the parts that I may want to keep in my build, unless you recommend otherwise:

SAMSUNG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model

Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

WD 640gb 7200RPM 3.0gb/s SATA

OCZ 700W psu v2.2

G.SKILL PI Black 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

As I said before, I cannot make up my mind on the GPU/CPU, and I am pretty sure I want Intel unless you can convince me to go AMD....which may not happen.

What resolution will you be gaming at?

You'll save some money if you buy your case at www.buy.com and the HD from www.zipzoomfly.com.

I'd say an E8400 and 4870 or GTX 260 core 216 would work very nicely with that build.

You'll also want a 64-bit OS to use all 4GB of RAM.

I only have a 17" monitor, so I will be gaming at a whopping 1280x1024 resolution, so what should I do to take that into account?

I do not know much about GPUs and how they relate to the resolution, like higher=better gpu
lower=midrange gpu
