Hello everybody,

I'm building a modest setup: e7400,Intel DG43NB, etc.

I'm trying to decide which PSU to take, I'm looking for a basic one, around 400WATT.

I'm trying to decide between three options: ThermalTake, Hiper and HEC. All are entry level and similarly priced.

ThermalTake: http://www.thermaltake.com/product_info.aspx?PARENT_CID=C_00001022&id=C_00001023&name=TR2+420W&ov=n&ovid=
Hiper: http://www.hipergroup.com/products.php?lv=3&cate=1&type=23&pid=7
HEC: I couldn't find it, but this is an OEM 400WATT version, and it will cost me a little less because I'm already taking a HEC Compucase 6A19 which I can take bundled with this PSU.

Most important is reliability and quality of operation. No special heavy load is expected, integrated graphics, and so on, so I don't need a higher level PSU.

Thanks !

This is my recommendation: Corsair 400CX or Corsair 450VX. Both are high quality by a large margin compared to TT, HEC,etc. What ever you do get a quality PSU from: Corsair, PC Power & Cooling, Antec, OCZ.

Btw, if planing to OC drop that motherboard and get some thing like a P45-UD3L.

No OC, plain simple "office" computer.

Here is a link to a power supply calculator:

The result will be the total for the entire system and it will be overestimated because there are a lot of cheap, low quality psu's of questionable performance that people insist on buying.

Corsair, Seasonic, and PC Power & Cooling are all high quality brands that consistently earn high marks in technical reviews and comparisons. They are stable and very reliable. They're often recommended by veteran posters at this forum.
