Password protected sharing folder on network in xp

Hello,
i want to share folder with a username and password on a network working on windows xp-pro, only the username and password holder can access the folder is it really possible in win XP-pro u can send the answer to my e-mail its praveen@0408rdc.com, i thank you in advance but please guide me for sure

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you should be able to set up user groups that would be able to access the drive on the network and then authentication for that usergroup would be on-access to the hard drive.

if that isn't possible with windows you will have to look at installing additional software to achieve that

ps> why don't you just make an ftp out of the computer that has the hdd in it, that way you have to enter user/pass for sure
