what is diff between sli and crossfire

SLI is Nvidia, Crossfire is ATI.

True, both use multiple GPU's, or video cards. Although depending on your use, it is usually not needed. SLI stands for Scalable Link Interface. Crossfire is the same, only uses HD Radeon cards. (i.e. 2x HD Radeon 4850) Crossfire can be used Internally or Externally. Using a cable or with a "bridge". Hope that helps.

Also, you need neither if you want to use a single dual-GPU card like the 4850X2 or the GTX295.
