Boot Issue Need help trouble shoot

Hi Everyone,
I need some help, recently I built a new computer but it wouldn't boot, no picture and no beep sound.

The mobo I have is Gigabyte ep45-ud3r
Cpu: Intel quad core q9550

My guessing is that I did not connect the atx 12v 2x4.
The problem is that my power supply doesn't come with a 2x4 connector, it only comes with 2x2 and 2x3.

My question is can I connect the 2x3 connector into the 2x4 12v slot? will it work?

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Thanks!!

  1. whats your PSU? i came with the case or you bought it separate?
  2. The 2x2 might work.

PC P&C 750W is really a steal right now:

  3. 2x2 is fine, not 2x3.
  4. Thank you all for your prompt reply.
well yesterday I plug in the 2x2 into the 2x4 slots and it works fine.
The psu I have is the thermaltake purepower 600w.

The problem I have now is that after the bio setup a message pops up saying "disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter" Does that mean I have to insert win. vista setup disk?
  5. Yep.
  6. Thanks proximon.
