Usb not working

Hello,
neither of my flash drives will back up any data (quicken or word) but will open up any of the data that is stored on the flash drive. i have tried both of my usb ports on my home computer. they will however back up data on my computer at work.

It could be that the flash drives need to be formatted, i.e. you could have accidentally pulled one out without ejecting it from your home computer. If that doesn't do the trick, try updating your home computer's chipset, as this usually helps to "jump start" the usb controllers.
