Recently bought an MSI Eclipse motherboard. When I opened it, one of the white push pins holding down a copper part on top of the x58 section of the mother board was broken. With out this push pin the heatsink doesn't make direct contact with the northbridge (<-I think). I called MSI and they are graciously sending me another push pin free of charge (how generous!)
My question is, would running the board in this state cause any damage that I need to be aware of?

Thanks ahead of time for your input!
If the heatsink isn't making proper contact with the northbridge, I wouldn't use it at this time. Theres a very good chance that the northbridge will overheat, causing instability and maybe even frying the board.
