I am having all sorts of trouble with this build and have not had these problems before.

Is this compatible?

I swear they are. The whole setup runs for a couple seconds, then shuts off and restarts. No POST or anything. The CPU never even gets hot, or at least the heat sink isn't warm. I have sent back in the MOBO first, then the CPU. Still no luck. I know the graphics card works because I can test it in my other computer. I got pissed and am now just RMAing the Motherboard, CPU, and RAM.

What in the world could be the problem? I have done this before I'm not that big of a noob. I have around 6 builds done along with multiple swapping around of misc parts. Its a 700w power supply, its turning everything on, so I don't think that is bad?? Have the CPU in correctly, Ram starting in closest slot, skipping a slot in between to get the tri-SLI, graphics card in closest slot. The main power to the mobo plugged in, the additional slot on the side by the fan in, and the one on the graphics card.

I just checked your manual, the ram needs to be plugged into the black sockets.

Check your manual to confirm. You can alos see how to enter the bios setup too.

Dohhhh!! I guess I will give that a shot. If that is the problem I am going to be pissed, but also very grateful.

Knowledge of how to enter the bios clearly isn't the problem if it isn't POSTing.

Definitely check the RAM slots though. Also, is everything plugged in properly? Make sure the CPU power is correct - I've seen exactly those symptoms from one with the CPU power (8 pin) plugged in incorrectly.

This was retarded. I didn't look at the stickers they had on the RAM slot when I pulled them off. I assumed they went in like DDR2 ram. We all know what they say about assuming though and look what it did to me.

Anyways I partly blame MSI for putting all these damn stickers on the motherboard boasting about different features the board has to offer. I just took them all off and didn't bother to read them. Their tech also should have been more knowledgeable when I called in and had a problem posting.

All in all, I'm the dumb one. Thanks for you help ravenware.
