Hi,

I have an assembled desktop that is now 4 years old:
OS: Windows XP
Motherboard: ASUS K8S-MX
Processor: Athlon 64 1.8 Ghz
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 6200
Monitor: Hanns 19'' LCD

Two days back the system froze and when I tried to boot, it showed an overclocking error though I have never overclocked.
The system was totally unresponsive on consecutive reboots.

Then I removed the Graphics card and connected the Monitor to the on-board graphics port. After rebooting again, the screen just shows back & white strips on the Monitor right from the start. This time, I can see that XP is booting normally but the Monitor would only show these stripes.

I tested the Monitor by connecting to my laptop and it worked fine ruling out the possibility of a Monitor issue. Can someone please help me understand what the problem is?

Thanks,
Jay
