i also got a mini ITX mobo with an embedded intel atom 330 (dual-core) 1.6GHz cpu, 1MB L2, 45nm

Intel makes sure all of the Atom processors for netbooks are soldered on as a means of selling their old scraps. They're the same chipsets used in the original Intel Mac Mini's in early 2006

There is no good way to swap those CPUs as the Atom is soldered to the motherboard. You would have to de-solder and re-solder 432 solder balls that are about a millimeter in diameter. It can be done if you have a de-soldering tool, a loupe, and hands steadier than a top neurosurgeon's, but then you'll probably still run into BIOS issues with the Aspire One as it was not designed for a dual-core Atom.
