Best hard drive for the money

I currently own a Western Digital 250 gig HD. It gets full to fast with games and my music. Looking to upgrade to a 1 TB drive.
I`m partial to Western Digital but would be willing to try other brands.
Whats the best 1TB drive for the money? Dont want to spend alot but need performance because i also play the newest fps games.
Will I need 64mb cache for my gaming?
I dont need to be told to set more than 1 drive in a raid array.
I`m just planning on paying for 1 drive.

Any of the new 500GB per platter drives will do. Samsung F3, Seagate 7200.12, not sure what the WD drive would be. (AAKS?) A 1TB drive would be a 2 platter drive. They might have 64MBs of cache, I'm not sure about that.

For data I uses a WD 1TB Green drive. Otherwise, I would choose Black.
