It's high-ish. 50C by itself shouldn't pose a serious problem as long as it's pretty much the max, although I'd personally prefer something closer to 45C.

Better cooling. Make sure there's a bit of space around the drive so that air can flow around it to carry away the heat - and make sure that the fans in your system are set up so that air flows past the drives.
