I have 6GB GSKIL DDR3 1600 kit (3 x2GB sticks) but my mobo is showing it as 1066. I looked on DIMM voltage in bios and it's showing it as 1.5v. On the package for the GKSILLs it says 1.6v~1.65v. How do I get my mobo to correctly identify the correct RAM. I've never done this and the BIOS always scares me cause I don't want to screw it up.
you have to manually set the speed, voltage, and more than likely timings in the bios
just read the mobo manual about the bios, you really can't screw too much up
I did. This was my last resort, I feel mindless ;-) The timings are 8-8-8-21 and the voltage is 1.6-1.65v. I read in the manual for memory but only one I see is, Cas Latency which I know but the other timings; im scratching my head. I havent done it before.
If I change the voltage to 1.65v and set the ram to 1600, would the mobo automatically change the timings? I', just afraid of inputing the values and screwing it up.
