ok, I have a C2D e8400 running at 3.6ghz right now, 1:1 with the memory. The Ram is DDR2 800, running at 800. If I get DDR2 1066 ram, and further OC my proc, is that a worth wile upgrade?

Im trying to upgrade something simple to give me best performance gain per dollar.

FYI the rest of my system is:

gtx 260 core 216
seagate 7200rpm drive

Thanks!

First lower your cpu multiplier and up your FSB to determine how far you can push your 800 ram. You may be able to get it to 445, so you can OC to 4.0 Ghz without spending any money.

Ok firstly... You seem to have the wrong idea. (Im not Saying you do it just seems to me like you do ;))

Read through the guides again before you damage something valuable

Overclocking your ram is. dodge at the best of times. The performance gains are Not really worth it.

Rather Set you FSB to the 400 And the Multi To 10x
Then go for a 1 : 2 Ram ratio so that you don't OC your ram!

What Mobo Are you using?

Good luck

Fisshy, I think he has the right idea, and you have NO idea of what you just said here.
