I knew when I bought the 2 video cards that they did not include the crossover cable. At the time I had plans to purchase 4 monitors, however I found a sweet deal on 2 1080p monitors.
"""Our only real complaint about the pair is a lack of a CrossFire cable with the cards--on a board that supports the feature, these should really be part of the package""""
Now I can use Crossover, but where to get the cable?
I found several at newegg, tigerdirect and the ATI store, but they are not... ATI CrossFireX Bridge Interconnect cable They do not list the 4800 series
Sapphires website states "The CrossFireX Bridge Interconnect cable is an optional accessory"
Of course, they list no way of actually obtaining one, not do they sell a 4830 with one.
Before you say anything... I'm well aware I need 2!!!
So please.... Can someone explain to me the crossover bridge.
Is a bridge a bridge a bridge? or do certain models have different connectors?
I sure would love to hear a definitive answer to this question, as I too just purchased dual Sapphire HD4830's and the ASRock P45XE.
Based on the reading I've done, I believe CrossfireX is just the terminology for three or four cards in a system and that's there's not a specific bridge for CrossfireX and Crossfire, merely the position of the bridges and cards (two bridges across Card 'A' and 'B' in Crossfire, or one bridge across Card 'A' and 'B' and one bridge across Card 'B' and 'C' for CrossfireX), but again, that's more of a guess.
