  1. 1.What's your total budget?

    2. Are you OCing?

    3. Why AMD? Intel has very good performance right now (C2D/C2Q/i7).
  2. hello there

    total budget:

lets say £220. for the motherboard bundle and graphics

    Yeah im Ocing

i dont know really, it always atleast used to seem the best value for money when it comes down to it, ill consider intel definetly

    any suggestions and cheers!
  3. This is a pretty restricting budget, but I just built my brother an AMD machine for pretty cheap and so far it is screaming fast. here is what I would use:

    BIOSTAR TForce TF720 A2+ AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 720a £35.

    G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) £40

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 2.7GHz 3MB L2 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Dual-Core black edition Processor £57 (overclocks to 3G at least)

If you want to all fancy pants (SLI) you can upgrade the motherboard to:

    BIOSTAR TFORCE TA790GX A2+ AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI £72

  4. +1 vonbose. if the new phenom based dual core isnt available or is too expensive, go with the 6000+
  5. +1 zip. I have the Biostar 790 gx which I grabbed for 100US. Right now the quad core AMD 9850 can be had for 160US.
Otherwise that dual core phenom is a good deal.

Overclocking with the Biostar board has been surprisingly good for a 100 dollar mobo. Got from 2.5 to 3.2 with my quad. Run 3.0 ghz 24/7. On board video is good for the price as well.

Why is it your always trying to push people who want AMD to Intel??
The OP wants an AMD system (in case you missed the title), and he's asking for suggestions on that.

I'm not. Right now assuming you are OCing you can have better performence with an Intel C2D (ie E5200). If you see here:
    http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/forum2.php?config=tomshardwareus.inc&cat=31&post=258300&page=1&p=1&sondage=0&owntopic=3&trash=0&trash_post=0&print=0&numreponse=0&quote_only=0&new=0&nojs=0

You'll see that I DO build AMD systems when needed. The OP NEVER specifically said he WANTED an AMD.

You mean other than in the title, and in the message where he says AMD?
