Advice on new build $600-$800

Hi Folks..

I am looking to build a pc in the $600-$800. This system will be used mainly for home/office use. Also for some video and photo editing. Already have 19" monitor(1280x1024),printer,kb and mouse.
Would still like to play Need for speed and Moto gp sometimes.

Any advice in putting a parts list together will be greatly appreciated.

First, why a $45 dvd-burner? One half the price should do fine.

Second, you can get similar ram for half the price after rebate.

Third, you don't want that video card, and especially not for that price. This card is $5 more and about twice as good;

Hope everyone had a good holiday.
I included the parts you advised and the total is $694.00. This is great.

I have not kept up with the technology. I built my last about 15yrs(never broke down after 5yrs). Then I switched to the big online brands(had enough problems).

With a build price like this, I guess it time to go shopping.

How about the case and psu combo.Is that enough power?

That should be plenty of power for that system.
That's a very nice build. It's a bit of overkill for the purposes you listed actually. If you wanted to you could save a few hundred and still have a system that's more than adequate for your purposes.

You are right. Although the price is not the issue, it will be useless having a system that is not being used to its full potential.
Afterall, this is why we choose to build our own.

What do you think will be a better setup?
