Yesterday, I tried upgrading the bios on my Biostar TF7150u-M7 using a windows utility. Yes, I know. Bad idea. Why didn't you tell me yesterday??? I tried all the usual possible remedies - cleared cmos, removed the battery for a while, checked to see if the floppy or cd drive was accessed upon startup (they weren't), yell obscenities, etc.

So I've got a lobotomized motherboard and a new one is being sent 2-day air. This should solve my problem, but I was wondering if there's any way for me to get my old bios re-flashed so that I've got a workable mb backup. I thought I saw a company that does this, but I can't find them now. Since a new mb costs $70 (+s&h), I don't want to have to spend TOO much on this.

You can't do it yourself because the BIOS chip is soldered on. Is it out of warranty? If not, send the motherboard back to Biostar. If it is, ask them how much it would cost to fix it.

if you can't get anything to show on the screen when powering up the PC then there not really much you can do. the chip is soldered on to the board like the last poster said. the only option you would have would be to send it back to biostar to get it re-flashed which could cost a lot of cash if your not under warranty. but who knows if they would honor a warranty sense they do not recommend flashing the bios unless you were having compatibility issues
