have an old dics reformated my comp cant authenticate .is there anything i can do dont have code anymore?

Are you talking about the XP license key? If you don't have it you need to contact MS to see if they can get you a replacement based on whatever proof of purchase you have, or buy a new copy. If the PC is from a vendor, they key is often on a OEM sticker on the computer case.
