Can I use both of these?

I originally bought:

Crucial 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model CT2KIT12864AA80E

and I am looking to buy a set of 4GB ram (2 sticks of 2GB). I am looking to buy these:

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

and was wondering if I could use all 4 sticks in the same computer.

I remember reading something a long time back that said something about not combining different kinds of memory sticks.

Could I use both of these at the same time?

Thanks!

Well yes, and a different brand at that. The worst that can happen though is your system won't boot up properly, or there'll be a bottle-neck somewhere because of your dissimilar RAM.

Before we get anywhere however, whats your OS? If you're using a 32-bit OS like the standard Windows XP, Vista, or 7, your max is around 3GB anyway.

I am just going to buy another 1GB stick of what I have already.

I looked into DDR3 ram, but I'd have to get a new motherboard with the right slot on it to use it, and most likely a new processor for the new slot on the new motherboard. Maybe next update.
