sounds way high to me . you need to read up on safe temps first and then overclock ? i dont know about sapphire but my xfx 5770 temp only goes up too 54 celsius under load clocked with catalyst controll center at 900 GPU and 1300 memory.i think i rember reading like 64 celsius is bout high as you want too go but im not shure?

If you don't mind me asking.. what CPU and case do you have? Just wondering because I would like to OC my 5770 when I build this comp I'm buying to about like you have it and 54 C is a good temp. Also do you notice a significantly enough difference in FPS in games with that OC to make it worth it?

Thanks

My 5770 would idle at 28C but i do have 7 case fans
Dude this is not about fans, i mean yes but i have also HD5770 and believe me i don't have no one fan.
My temp at idle is 33c (with 35% fan speed) at load 69c when ambient is 18-20c.

He's temp is little high, even for nVidia 100c is too high.
Ambient is high, but still i mean 100c is too high for ATI.

I have a HD 5770 in a CM Elite 335 case and I added the 120mm intake fan. My room temp is around 30'c (sometimes higher sometimes slightly lower), I live in a hot climate. My idle temps for my 5770 @ stock settings are from 34-40'c and load temps are in the 50's.

When I OC my 5770's Core from 850 to 940 and memory from 1200 to 1350 and fan to 70% my idle temps are 39-42'c and load are 59-64'c.

Try adding that 120mm intake fan.

This may not be relevant but I have a Saphire HD 5750 and I contacted Saphire via Email and recieved a reply that the HD 5750 tends to run hot and 0~105c was within the safe range. But my temps are way below that.

I had a 5770 in a Dell Studio XPS and idle 40c and 80c under load. I only have one fan and it's only 90mm and my temps have never went over 85c even with the GTX470 that I have now. I think that particular 5770 has a thermal paste issue or some other OEM issue. Anyway try creating custom fan profile with MSI Afterburner and you might as well Overclock it a little because it will not raise temps much and fan profile is a must. AMD and Nvidia try to hard to keep their cards quiet just add 10% to 20% to fan graph at all points. My 5770 ran alot faster with slight OC! Good Luck!
