I was just wondering, if most games only work on 32-bit widows, why would someone want to comfigure a gaming PC with 4gb + of memory if what they intend to do is game, but can't take advantage of the extra memory in 32-bit windows?

Your assumption is completely in error. Most games do not 'only work on 32-bit windows'. Games work fine with 64 bit OS's and a 64 bit OS is needed to recognize and utalize more than 4 GBs of RAM.

Indeed when 32 bit code is run in a x64 bit environment it is still limited to 2GB of ram. However the operating system is free to address much more and can run in a different memory space when it would otherwise be forced to share it with other applications in a pure 32bit environment. I hope my ramblings make sense. Hopefully someone else can clear that up.
