8800gtx artifacts

i just bought a used 8800gtx and checked for artifacts and i get a ton of them. not sure it the card was oced from the previous owner or if mabye i dont have enough voltage. the psu is a x-power 585volt. thanks for the help

also the current clocks are 576 and mem 900. i scan for a minute and get no errors, but a whole lot of noise

Watts, not Volts.
It`s most likely not a power issue.
It`s most likely a damaged card.
Try underclocking it (memory and core) and retesting.

And check the temperatures using Rivatuner.

the temp is 65 at idle and 75 after one minute

i put the clocks down to 461 and 720 and all the artifacts went away and is staying down at 70C. should i move the clock up until i get a little artifacts or no?

Take the fan to 100% and take the clocks back up some.

i did turn the fan up to 100. runnin 52 at idle now. do i turn them up till i see artifacts and thenn down until they go away?
