Hello i am going to buy 2 gb of ram from gskill for my i7 860 and asus maximus formula iii. intel says that voltage more than 1.65 can cause damage to cpu according to that can i buy the above ram safely.

Because i will overclock my i7 860, i think ram will also be overclocked in this process.

my Actual is is this ram safe for my processor and motherboard and causees no harm even if i overclock?

thanks

1.65 is fine which is what that ram runs at, and you shouldn't have to go above that.

1.66 is not going to instantly kill the CPU if that were the case, nor is 1.69. I think most people with i7s have ram that runs at 1.64-1.66
