How can i use MS DOS to do system restore in window XP

how can i use MS DOS to do system restore in window XP, pls can some help me out

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

If by MS DOS you man the Command Prompt that appears on your Repair option on teh XP CD or when the system is running under its own steam, at the prompt, type %systemroot%\windows\system32\rstrui.exe and hit Enter.

Why do you feel the need to do this outside the GUI?
