My system spec is:-Amd Phenomx4 2.6ghz Black Edition.
Msi K9A2 Platinum motherboard.
4gb Ocz Reaper 1066 Ram
2x Hd4870 512mb graphics cards in crossfire mode.
maxtor 160gb 7200rpm sata hd
maxtor 500gb 7200rpm sata hd
Samsung Dvd rw sata
Windows vista 32 Ultimate.
1 12v extractor fan
5 80mm fans 1 with led
2 120mm fans 1 led.

My other psu 850w generic psu failed when playing call of duty waw as the cooling of my system wasnt very good and i think it just overheated under strain. So i have moved my system into a slightly roomier case and added a few more fans, now the shop hasnt any of the same psu that failed in stock so i can either wait and have another 850w generic brand psu or they have offered me a 600w Coolermaster i-green psu that costs a lot more than the generic one, but i am unsure as to whether this 600w psu will be sufficient to power my system when playing games, obviously this is going to be a better psu than the generic psu but is it powerfull enough. the website with all the power details of the psu is www.extremeoverclocking.com/reviews/cases/Cooler_Master_iGreen_600W_2.html I would be obliged if someone could have a look and advise me accordingly. Thanks in advance.

The 600W Coolermaster will struggle when your 2x4870 are under load. Crossfired 4870s will use about 430 under laod, and around 260 at idle. So that doesn't leave much room for the rest of your components. Dont get another generic PSU, as you'll have the same problem. Get something like a Corsair TX 850W (about £119 / $173), or a Hiper 880W HPU-4M880 (about £115 / $167). I know these PSU's are pricy but its worth spending on a good PSU. Hope this helps

That's total system power consumption.

I think the Coolermaster will do the job but is pretty close. I think your total system power consumption is around 510-520W. If you want to buy a good PSU with decent price, you can look for Hiper.

850 watt is fine. The only thing that push PSU's to the limit is the video card. For te most part a 300 watt power supply will run plenty of hard drvies and fans and stuff.
