How do i remove an item from a drop down menu in XP

i want to remove an item from the drop down menu's when you right click on a file. Have, I think, removed Avira AntiVir from my computer, at least nothing happens if I click it, but it still appears in the drop down menu

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

Open My Computer and from the Tools menu choose Folder Options and then View. Scroll down and untick Hide Protected system files and folders, accept the warning and click Apply then further up, tick Show hidden files and folder, click Apply again and OK your way out.

Go to C:\Documents and Settings\{yourname}>SendTo and in that folder will be the icon and name you don't want so simply delete it.
