First Computer Build

hey guys, this is my first post at the site, though I've looked around for a little while now.
So this is my first time building a pc, ill mainly be using it for gaming but also for internet, aim, itunes and word documents. I have a budget of around 1600 - 1700, inlcuding a 22 inch monitor (so ill be gaming at 1680 x 1050) and a mouse and keyboard.
I've never overclocked before but I may try with this comp, though nothing too extreme, probably to something like 3.0 to 3.4 Ghz
Also, I've thought about i7 and made a few builds but i dont have much flexibility in my budget and id rather not compromise on the gaming potential to fit the i7 in my budget

• CPU- Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550- [url=http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115041][/url] -- i read that the q6600 could overclock to just as much as the 9550 easily, but i decided id be safer with the q9550 if i decided not to overclock

Without the Monitor, keyboard and mouse it comes to $1251

I agree about the mouse and keyboard . Those are a bit tryhard .


The rest is fine , except maybe the samsung dvd writer . Liteon are better imo
