Hey guys,

i tried to overclock my system:

Asus Striker II Extreme
E8400
DDR3 4GB PC1600 CL8 KIT (2x2GB) OCZ Gold retail
Watercool

My RAM gives some errors if I set
CPU Voltage 1,36 V
CPU Freq 1777MhZ
RAM Frq 1777 MhZ
RAM voltage 1,98 V

Memtest86 stop on 6%

if I set RAM voltage to 2 V it runs to 8%

if I set all to default, it runs to 100 %

all in dualchannel mode

can u give me some hints ?

Maybe i have to set other voltages higher ?
best regards

In the BIOS, set the RAM latencies and voltage to the settings shown on the stickers attached to the RAM. Then try changing the RAM divider in the BIOS to lower its frequency to be at, or less thhen than 1600MHz.

Uh DDR3 should not ever be run over 1.75V and even that's pushing it, the max spec is almost always 1.65V.
Your problem is it's 1600mhz RAM CL8, you can't just increase the frequency by 177mhz and expect it to be a-ok. Bump up to CL9 with 1.65V and you should be fine to 1800mhz maybe 1850 at most.
Otherwise downclock the RAM speed to be closer to 1600mhz, as higher speed won't really benefit much. I'm running 1600mhz CL8 RAM at 1400mhz CL7 instead of 1750mhz, for example.
