I'm having this strange problem, and dont have a clue why... I was playing counter strike source, and suddenly, my computer shutdown, full black screen with no message, and wont boot up back again... Whenever I try to power it on, it doesnt do anything. No beeps, no sounds, nothing, except for one thing. One of my system fans has a blue led. I try to power my pc on, it lights up blue very fast (less than 1 second) and goes off again. I also notice that the fan itself tries to move (at same time that LED goes on), but nothing. This happens very very fast. It looks like it just cant power up the computer. What is it? How can i fix this? There are no beeps (makes it harder to guess), so i think that it can either be CPU, RAM, mobo or PSU. Am i right? please help, thanks in advance.

My first guess could be the power supply. If you have a spare laying around, I would try swapping it.

My first guess would be the PSU since it died in the middle of a game. Do you happen to have a spare PSU you can try? What are the system specs, especially the PSU?

CPU - AMD 64 X2 6400+ black edition 3.2GHz
RAM - Corsair 4GB 800MHz
GPU - Zotac 8800GT 512mb DDR3 (only 1... no SLI)
Sound card - Sound blaster X-fi Xtreme gamer
MoBo - MSI k9a2 CF

PSU - NOX ATX Urano 600W

NO, i dont actually have another PSU around... :'( and YES, i also do think its the PSU, since, (as you said) it died in the middle of the game, and its not easy to supply power for my pc specs (CPU especially). I know it really is a power eater... but still... 600W with 72% efficiency should handle it quite easy... Does this happen just by chance, or can't my PSU handle my pc specs? I'm quite sad with all this... It happend exactly when my PC made 1 year... (Not a really nice 1st year gift!) :P

I've never heard of that PSU manufacturer. It's always a good idea to go with a quality PSU from a reputable manufacturer. You can't go wrong with Corsair or PC Power & Cooling. Antec, OCZ, & Zalman make some good units also. The PSU is the most important component in a build IMO. It's certainly not an area to cut corners.

? It is actually a very good PSU and PC case brand... Don't know how you don't know it. I chose the components wisely on my pc... I didn't cut any corners by choosing a NOX PSU... Went to my favourite local PC shop (where i bought my computer in first place) and they told me that they were going to test the components, but they are close to certain that it was the PSU failing (before testing). I asked if my PSU choice was any good (to know if i'd have any problems in the future again), and they said that its a top brand for quality, along with OCZ and Corsair at the moment. I keep seeing NOX PSU's on all computers here in Portugal, and everyone recommends them. However, of course they fail, just like any OCZ, Corsair and PC power & cooling... If you don't know the brand, just don't comment on it... This may happen with ANY PSU... ***besides, even though it is almost certain that its a faulty PSU, it may NOT be... This means that it might be even more worthless to comment on the quality of an unknown brand to you... ;)

NOX may be well known in Portugal, but not in the U.S.A. It's not a good idea to attack someone for trying to help.

NOX is well known world wide... i didnt attack you.. I just warned you that if you want to help, please have some knowledge, instead of throwing comments...

If you say so... The funny thing is that I happen to live in the US and I can tell you that NOX is NOT well know world wide, regardless of what you think/say. A search of all the popular PC hardware sites in the US for NOX brings back no results.
