Asus P6t Deluxe

Can anybody give me some idea. I have a Asus P6t Deluxe mother board with the i7. One sata hard drive. I am trying to install an ide hard drive on the m/o board but it does not see the drive at all. Am I missing something? There is nothing in the bios that I can see. Thanks for any info..

make sure the power cord for it is in all the way. it wont register if the power cord is improperly installed

Ok will check. Cord did go in hard. i have a ocz700 and it does have the molex connectors. Thanks..

Well I checked the power and that was ok. I also used power from anther computer and also tried anther drive and anther ide cord. Could the mother board have a bad eide port?

try putting the ide hard drive in another computer. if your motherboard is faulty the hard drive will showup on the other computer's bios. if it is the hard drive, then it will not showup on either computer.

Well after checking with Asus you have to enable the Marvell storage controller in the bios. Thanks...
