This is something that will need to be figured out in person.

Go to a local bestbuy and see the keyboards they have out and test them out.

A good gaming keyboard is just a keyboard that is well built and has preferable key spacing.
I personally have the Saitek cyborg, it fulfills the above criteria fairly well and has some added features and programmable keys. (it is a little tacky in person though)

Razer Tarantula gets my vote if you've got the desk space. Lycosa's a nice board too, though wouldn't trade the larger Tarantula for it. This one's after drinking about a litre of coffee (NOT MY FAULT) and after a little cleaning it's still working perfectly. Love the fact that it's not littered with hundreds of LEDs, it's got some for effect but it's not as bright and distracting as other boards.

Because keyboards contribute so much to lining up a crosshair, come on dude, if you're going to be sarcastic then at least try k? ;)

Besides, gaming peripherals are a gamer's form of 'bling' because we'd be beaten up for any other type.

I use an ideazon merc stealth. the game pad is magnificent, and the backlighting is also great.

only con is that the number pad can be a bit of a pain to get used to, for when I'm actually trying to get work done.

Keyboards, mousies, monitors and cases are all very subjective. As Ravenware has already said, you need to go to a B&M store and have a play to see what works for you.

Thanks everyone for your feedback.

I'll head over to my local MicroCenter and look at some keyboards to get a better feel for them. I'm leaning toward either the G15 or Razer Tarantula, but will have to double check my desk space....
