I have a Seagate 1TB FreeAgent Desk external HDD. During operation it emits clicking sounds that are loud enough to be annoying. Seagate tools report no errors. Should I be concerned? The drive is used for backup of critical data.
A clicking drive usually indicates it is failing. Odd being that the HDD is so new, but i would back up the data to another drive immediately, and then either talk to seagate (if under warranty) or take to a professional.
