30GB SSD for OS?

I am going to be building a system and was wondering if it was a good idea to use a 30GB SSD for windows 7. I know it will decrease boot times and such but I am hesitant because I have heard so much about how SSD's have short life spans, how long will an SSD last as a boot drive? Also, if the OS is on the SSD, will it make the whole system faster or just the boot times?

More about 30gb
  1. Which 30GB SSD? Imo, unless you plan to get a QUALITY SSD don't bother. For an OS drive, 4K random read/write is what really matter. Sequential R/W doesn't matter much.

Any/most programs + files stored on a SSD will open/load faster.
  2. ssds last longer than hdds, but the less quality ones degrade over time and as u fill them up more, but the better ones dont, or not as much. like these are good ones:
