Intel chipsets, generally speaking, have less issues and more overclocking headroom.. In fact they are considered to be the standard agaunst which other chipsets are compared..nForce chipsets, while having better integrated graphics, are still not enough for games, so the slight increase in GFX performance will be useless..
Go for intel bro..
BTW can't you afford a G35 or even G33 mobo? There are so many cheap and yet good mobos for these chipsets (from ASUS or Gigabyte for example) and they are far better than the two you mentioned.
I want to do some minor gaming so I will just get a gfx card later.
However, I want to hook up a Pentium Wolfdale 2.5 ghz upto the mobo. And DDR2 800 mhz RAM OCZ 2gi RAM
So which one should i choose? the NVidia with the better onboard graphics but supposedly risky and problematic or the Intel with less onboard graphics
Thanks for any replies.
I love my p35 rock solid stable. My original 630i wouldn't boot a 45nm Core 2 no matter what. Go Intel, Graphics suck (won't use their gpus even since the GMA 950) but you said you'll be getting a card so no biggie. Anyway, both boards are um...... budget if you ask me. I mean two ram slots is kinda ghetto imo.

"Well i want to use a wolfdale w/ an 800mhz fsb but most of the G33/35 FSBs are higher. Is that ok?"
Definitely yes, the mobo should downgrade automatically to FSB 800 mhz and you may be able -if you want- to OC the FSB (and the CPU with it of course) to 1066 mhz or higher.
The mobo you're asking about is not bad. Personally I prefer ASUS mobos, they worked fine for me. The following one will cost only $5 than the Asrock you mentioned:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813131353 But judging from ASUS rep, it should be better. This is my opinion ,however, I suggest you google for reviews and build yours.
Sorry guys but i won't be needing this computer anymore. I just switched to AMD because i found it would be a better performance to price ratio than the intel.
*Face to palm* Sorry, didn't read OP properly... thought you were asking if you should get an Intel motherboard, not an Asus motherboard with an Intel chipset.
Mobo ASRock 16 gig max RAM DDR2 1066 ATX ATI Radeon HD 3200 integrated VRAM (512 max) AM2+/AM2 $119
RAM OCZ 2 gig 800 mhz ( going to OC) don't know how though $22
Processor: AMD Kuma BE 7750 2.7 Ghz $60
I am using it for minor gaming and a lot of word and web surfing, it is for my family so it needs some power I was on 150 dollar budget until I found out my original case wouldn't be big enough and I needed a new psu
can't spend alot though. Already at $201
