I had 3 motherboards that all died when I took them out of the case and such.

Should I have used a ground strap?

How can I make sure they are dead?

They all worked fine and after I took them out to clean the case and CPU and what not, they don't work...

One is intel d865glc, the other an nvidia nforce a something, socket 754, and the other a socket 478 gigabyte ga 8i11k or something like that...

Please help! I will just throw them out?? And buy a CPU + mobo combo with dual core from frys for $100?? And sell the CPU's and memory??

Well now,,you might consider breadboarding them at what I call the "basic level",psu,1 stick of ram and a bootable floppy, and a kbd, there is no way that you can boot to 3 different mobo's with different chipsets with the same hdd,,but you can with the same floppy,if you have a floppy but no OS to put on it...

Go to ,,say,,Western Digital,,download their hdd diags, and let it install itself onto a floppy which will be bootable,of course if there is/may be no hdd connected to the computer it will have to boot to detect same,,thusly you now know the state of said mobo..:)
