hi all

thanks in advance for any help

ok heres my dillema

i will be running 12gb on a gigabyte extreme x58

down to either

this

or this

the first has xmp 8-8-8 timings + last one has the 6-6-6-24 timings (which is about 40% more)

will i really notice the diffrence ?

i plan to overclock the hell out of it , 4.2 ghz plus ( i have the d0 stepping 920)

im a visualisation artist hence the need for 12gb (maybe more when the 4gb kits come out lol)
any thoughts ??

I'd be surprised if you would notice the difference between the two. If the pricing is similar between them, then it is probably worth going with the tighter timings, but if there's a significant difference in cost, I'd say just go with the cheaper one.

Also there is a choice in the middle, the ocz platinum is cas7
