Word file disappeared xp

Hello,
I ran check disk and file disapperd after bad shut down

MS Word makes a backup of the document at certain intervals. Unfortunately it also deletes that backup after the program is closed, by whatever method happened to close it.

You can look in the system temp folder for one or more of the backups, if they still exist, or...

You can download Recuva, have it scan your drive for lost/deleted files and recover one of the auto-backups and then rename it with a proper filename extension. (The auto-backup has a strange extension).
