I have been looking to build a budget machine with the new AMD Kuma 7750. I notices that the Hyper Transport is now at 3600mhz. The problem I am having is I can not find a AM2+ board with hyper transport 3600mhz on new egg. Most of them have 2600mhz. Can anyone recommend a good budget conscious Mother board?

More about : motherboard kuma 7750

The AM2+ boards that support 2.6Ghz HT are more than enough, they're just measured differently (actual speeds vs effective speeds). The 7750 actually only has a 1.8Ghz HT.

HT speeds are one of the last things that affect Phenom performance. You can see an analysis of that over at mad shrips some where. Anyway on many boards the 7750 runs at a 1.8GHz HT speed and if you try to set it manually to 2.6 the system will not post. Anyway it's hard to recommend something without knowing your budget. I can tell you right now that if you want to overclock that 7750 you will need something better than the stock cooler. For a low priced board this one is great. If you're going to overclock with it though be sure you know what you're doing

ASRock A780FullHD $58.99

This one is a great budget crossfire board

ASRock A780GXE $79.99

And if you want a 790GX board so you can have ACC and thus overclock better I would say go with

ASRock A790GXH $94.99

Or this one

GIGABYTE GA-MA790GP-UD4H $138.99
