Vcr recording hook up to pc

Hello, my father in law can't work the tv any longer, as well as a dvd player... i was wondering if i could record movies that i have down loaded on my pc so that i can make him a video tape? if so, how do i connect it? i am running windows xp sp3 (don't laugh) home edition 2003 on hp pavilion. thank you very much for your time. julie juliedegree33@hotmail.com

you need a composite video out of your PC and a vcr that will take the inputs (typically they have av inputs at the back).

you didn't provide your laptop model, so I can't look up what ports you got. typically laptops have a nice array of video outputs, if you have a S-video out, I'm pretty sure you can buy a cable that will plug into S-video on your laptop and plug into av jacks on the vcr.

after that you'll just have to play the movie in full screen while recording it
